Educational Background: B.S. – Wright State University, Dayton, OH 1980 M.D. – Michigan State University, 1991 Certifications: Board Certified in Internal Medicine Biography: Dr. Boynton was raised in southern Ohio. She left college after two years and worked many low-paying jobs. She received a full undergrad scholarship to Wright State University in 1997 where she earned her bachelor’s degree. Dr. Boynton is Board certified in Internal Medicine and is a graduate of Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine. She has received numerous awards and has been recognized as an outstanding teacher of medicine by the 1994 first year residents at MSU. She has also received a first place award in Biomedical Student Research Program in 1998. Dr. Boynton has also had a second career prior to becoming a physician. She taught chemistry at Lansing Community College and Turf Grass Management at Michigan State University. Dr. Boynton is married to an attorney and has two high school aged girls. Dr. Boynton won an auto racing championship in 1978 and currently enjoys singing with the Michigan State University Choral Union.
